Finding Family

Isn't it great that no matter where you go on the planet you can always bump into someone from the Kanakuk family? I have seen it happen over and over again and it always happens when you least expect it.

Sarah Pearcy, maybe one of the most fun, joy filled, and servant hearted staff to ever walk the grounds of KWest, had a little catch up time this past weekend at a Crusade conference in Indianapolis. She re-connected with family.

Sarah, along with Kyle Kilroy, Ashlen Snellen, and Maile Miller all had the chance to take in some quality teaching as well as some quality fellowship while they were challenged to go deeper in their walk with Christ and live it out on their campuses. It was a rich time. From the sounds of her email, her faith was challenged and her Kwest family cup was filled. It's fun to hear that type of news.

Last night my boys and I watched the KWest video from last summer. It was like throwing extra logs and diesel on an already raging fire. We are so ready to see everyone back at the Westside. My sons miss the people...they miss their second family.

KWest has become that type of place for so many of us over the years. That's a good feeling for me. It also makes me chomp at the bit to get started and open our gates for another summer of fun. I need some good family time.

Sarah's weekend is not an isolated one by any means. I know we get to connect in so many ways over the school year. It makes the summer that much sweeter.

See you for the start of staff training week. It's only 80 days away.
