On my way out of basketball today, I stopped and talked to Nathan, one of our staff who was shooting baskets on a period off. I asked him how things were going and how he liked kamp. It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord brings us such wonderful men and women.
When I asked him to describe his time here in two words, he thought for a moment and then replied: Awesome and rewarding!
He said this place was awesome because of how much fun and excitement happens every day, not to mention what the Lord does to change lives (he shared some stories of kampers who had literally been changed in the past 48 hours). "After being a kamper for so many years" he shared, "now I finally understand why counselors did what they did" he added with a smile.
Every day is awesome here at kamp, and it's very rewarding. The line up over the next few days is incredible. This afternoon is our 6-8 year kamper appreciation party with pizza and a visit from Kay Holiday. Tonight will be cross talk which always seems to hold some special things. Tomorrow will be our Sunday in kamp and church, Unreal Deal's trip to Branson, and then purity night with Joe White.
Nathan was right. This place truly is both awesome and rewarding.
