Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.It is crazy to see the vast differences in the giftings and temperaments of each of my boys. The photo and video above highlight one of Colton's abilities: Basketball. He's a great little athlete. It is so fun.
As a dad, I want to take into consideration how God has made them, and then train them to know God and His word in a way that serves each child best. Each person's training is as unique as their giftings. One of my boys is shy, one is sensitive, one is independent, and the other is... a combination! Being their daddy, I have the joy of "training" each in a very personal way--- tailored to each of them individually, and paced in such a way that they will "grow in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man" as best we can.
What a joy to be a dad!
And God feels the same about you, too.... He cares, disciplines, and teaches. Crazy to think about THAT kind of father that we have in God!
