Work Picks Up

It's starting to look and feel a lot like kamp is here.
Folks are starting to show up and we are making a dent in the long list of things that need to be done before the kids arrive. Not only are the Uncles getting the job done, but now we have added in a few Aunts too.

Drew hit town and immediately went to the shed to start overhauling our fleet of bikes. It's amazing to watch a guy who is talented as a mechanic. He is more like a surgeon to be honest. It's really neat to see our bikes come alive as he revives them with a little oil, elbow grease, and some TLC.

It's always fun to have komos around to help with the work load. Jenica has been here for several weeks now chipping away at the kitchen and getting it looking really nice. We are excited to say that we are ahead of schedule and looking really nice.

Erin, Lindsay, and Lauren Dixon are a few of the komo leadership and staff that have shown up to help lend a hand in getting the bunkhouses ready for everyone. I think lot's of the komo staff will be surprised when they hit Kwest Drive. Craig and his crew have done some serious work to get bunkhouses looking more like fun Hampton Inn rooms (as much as a Western Town will allow)

Taylor Allen and his crew have been busy painting poles at the pool, water slide area, and the flag poles. It's amazing what a quick coat of paint can do. It makes everything look so brand new. There is definitely plenty of painting to do so we are happy that the sun is shining and the weather is cooperating after several days of rain.

Befort, Jesse, and Jon are laying down some fresh court paint in the kdome area. Volleyball and hoops will be entertaining their kampers this summer with fresh looking arenas. It was way past time for those to be touched up.
We have also added more room in the weight room for guys like Buller and Certain. I think all of the kids and staff will really enjoy that expansion.
Our clinic training starts tomorrow. We will have more folks in and it should be an incredible lift off. Get ready to Amp it up and go to the next level.

Uncle Time!

The Uncles are Here!
Caleb, Nick, Jesse, Andrew, Matt, and Jon get the clean sweep going in the chuckwagon.
It's so fun to have the team in and get to work a little together.
The boys decided to tackle the kitchen this morning to help out Jenica.
Our first load of supplies came on the food truck, so this is really beginning to look a little like it's officially summer around this place.
We have new cheers, new birthday songs, and new bible raps on the way this year. The dining hall will definitely have that old familiar ring when it comes to Pink and the Bee, but there will be some new twists, so prepare yourself.
Michelle told me today that our komo side of kamp is really filling fast. It sounds like even the end of summer for 6th term is really full. That's so encouraging to hear.
On the kuk side, things are looking very well. We still have some openings at the beginning of the summer for our 1st term of 2 weeks and it's a great way to kick off the summer.
Stay tuned for some fun updates as more staff roll in to help us work.

Calm Before the Storm

This is what the Kwest dock looks like today.

It's peaceful. It's quiet. No boats, no carpet, no staff or kids.
Not even an aqua skipper in sight.
The cove is just waiting for everyone to show up and start having fun.

Uncle week is just around the corner and will officially start tomorrow around supper time.

One of the first things we do is get the dock up and running.
It always signals the start of what will hope to be another amazing summer.

I spent the afternoon getting my old hammock reacquainted with the water front.
A little time praying, reading, and relaxing...the calm before the storm.

I am ready to roll.
