Kanakuk Mascot

Meet Jake.

Jake will be one of the K-West mascot's this year.
He just turned 6 months today weighing in at a tad over 45 pounds and growing like a weed.

Over the years we have always had a few good dogs to help come along side the staff and the kampers while they stay here. The funny thing about Kwest is that you never know what you will get.

What do I mean by that? Well, Spook (our women's director) is really great about bringing mascots...cats, occasionally a pig, maybe even a baby calf. Among her many talents which include National Championships, PhD work, and real estate, she is also a rancher and does a pretty fair job of raising cattle.

It will be fun to see Jake this summer at kamp. Be ready to at least meet him and say hello. He is the world's friendliest dog.

Even more exciting will finding out what mascot Spook will be bringing. No doubt they are always a "hit."

Video Time!

Great News!

This week it looks like we will be mailing out our picture/video packets to all of the campers.

There is nothing better than getting a little mid winter pick up in your mail box to make you think about the summer. In my thirty years hear at Kanakuk, I can honestly say that this year's Movie Tour video was not only my favorite, but I would vote for it as best of all time as far as telling the story about our mission and why kamp is such a great place.

Night after night out on the tour, I couldn't keep myself from watching Tim's work and seeing kampers and staff tell the story about how Christ had changed their life while they were at kamp. It's so fun to watch dozens and dozens share about when their life was transformed. It's humbling and thrilling at the same time.

Be checking your mail box in the next two weeks. We launch the videos February 8th.

Big Time Baller breaks record!

Well, looks like we have a real deal Kanakuk baller. Check out this story. Washington Catholic’s Austin Jarrett lead his team to a 98-38 win over Holy Cross on Saturday. During the game, Jarrett set the single game scoring record with 52 points. What an incredible game! We are super pumped for him. He is a great leader. We sure miss him around Kwest. He has moved on to bigger and better things over at K2 where he is doing awesome!
